DESCRIPTION:An OADD On-line Educational Event \nPresenters: Alison Cox\, Autumn Kozluk \nThere are three common intervention approaches to treating challenging behaviour in persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)\, including: behavioural\, psychopharmacological and combined interventions.\nThis presentation will discuss the clinical implications of an improved understanding of drug-behaviour mechanisms and describe existing literature on individualized evaluation systems. The focus will be to consider ways to improve evaluation strategies and better facilitate individualized models of care for individuals with IDD who engage in challenging behaviour and are taking psychotropic medication.
